The special exhibit "Menschenbilder – Götterwelten. The Worlds of Gods and Men" features high-level works representing over 300 years of classical European painting and sculpture, and is on display at the Residenzgalerie Salzburg and the Nordoratorium from 30 July until 16 October. 68 paintings and 21 sculptures from the Princely Collections, the Fürstlich Schwarzenberg’schen Kunststiftung (curated by the Princely Collections), the Hohenbuchau Collection, the Residenzgalerie Salzburg and the Gemäldegalerie der Akademie der Bildenden Künste Wien are on display in ten different rooms.
The Princely Collections are the result of over 400 years of constant and continuous art collecting by the Princely House of Liechtenstein. It is considered one of the most important private art collections in the world. The Princely Collections are regularly represented abroad at alternating special exhibits and on loan, most recently in China, Russia, Taiwan as well as France, and now in Salzburg. LGT is the main sponsor of the exhibit.
"The Worlds of Gods and Men" will be on display until 16 October at the Residenzgalerie in Salzburg. The next exhibit of the Princely Collections will take place from 12 November 2016 until 19 March 2017 at the Kunstmuseum in Bern.
