Intern Private Debt - Investment Team

LGT Private Debt is affiliated with LGT Capital Partners and operates as its private debt competence center focused on arranging and underwriting private debt investments for sponsored buy-outs of mid-market companies on a pan-European basis. Set up in 2005, the team of 43 includes 23 investment professionals based in Paris and London and Frankfurt, has completed over 100 transactions, which represent EUR 4.0 billion of committed investments. An international team of over 600 professionals is responsible for managing a wide range of investment programs focusing on private markets, liquid alternatives and multi-asset class solutions. Job Information

During your six-month internship (flexible start date January – March 2022), with the Frankfurt-based Private Debt investment team, your tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing and screening of investment opportunities including qualitative
    and quantitative analysis of business opportunities;
  • Composing investment committees’ memoranda and credit papers;
  • Financial modelling and valuation analysis;
  • Assessment of business, financial and industry due diligence;
  • Deal execution support and portfolio monitoring.

Requirements

  • Solid academic track record: pursuing a relevant Bachelor or Master’s degree in a top ranking university;  
  • Previous experience in investment banking, transaction services, private debt or private equity;
  • Proven interest in the finance industry, particularly in private equity or private debt;
  • Strong IT skills (MS Office), in particularly Excel; financial modelling skills is an advantage;
  • Excellent language skills in English and German; fluency in other European languages is a plus, especially French or Spanish;
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail;
  • Self-starter with an independent working style;
  • Self-motivated and pro-active team player.
